AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 49 & 50

Back again with the tail end of 2018. Somehow it always seems so so long ago when we're actually only 6 days into 2019! I guess the mind does shut the door on the past in some way. But god willing and the creek don't rise, next Monday will finish weeks 51 and 52. We'll see!

Travel With Me Tuesday: AKA Project Life Week 48

Happy New Year to all! Glad to be as caught up as I am with the projects from 2018. It never all gets done by the first of the year but that's ok. As long as I'm only a week or two 'behind' I feel that I can go into 2019 with my feet on the ground and my mind clear enough. It helped that I didn't do a December Daily last year which makes me want to do it all the more this year. But back to 2018.

December arrived without snow but instead Boston greeted me with an absolute downpour. Later there was brisk weather as the city was lit up for Christmas and I had time with my son and my daughter in law. LOTS of walking which is always a good thing and gives me a bit of wiggle room for the food he makes me and what's ahead for Christmas.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 46 & 47

The flowers were still blooming this week and I wondered if it would ever get really cold. A lot of jobs were done on houses on my street with the rush to get things done before any bad weather. But while we had a snow sprinkle, that was it. Not much hope for a snowy December.

And then we move on to week 47. Getting closer to the end of the year. But the leaves were still falling. Yes, global warming. But look! The Christmas tree came up from the cellar! and we had our 2nd Thanksgiving at an Indian restaurant. Kind of a tradition with a vegetarian daughter.

December 28 2018 - Finished Challenges

I really do enjoy doing some challenges from different scrapping websites. This December I only managed to do the ones from The-Lilypad but that's ok. There are 7 quick stories told and telling the story is my point. Next month I'll be doing the January MOC, Month of Challenges, at The-Lilypad which is a layout challenge for each day and it IS a challenge when you see some of the requirements. Definitely takes me out of my comfort zone but that's good. While I know my style now and know how I like pages to look, sometimes trying a new technique is fun! sometimes it's a lot of $^*#! kind of mumbling or even tears but I've done that month two times.

But this winds up December 2018 for me - plus the ongoing Project Life of course.  That wants finishing up so I can get into 2019 with it ready to go to the printer!! See you next year!

Yes, she did graduate

I pray that she takes this degree, B.A. in Criminal Justice, and finds herself a well paying job so she can have a safe and comfortable life for herself and her daughter.  It's time to create good things. insh'allah!

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 45

Well not a lot of catch up has been done, but I finally got my Christmas spirit in gear and have done most of what needs to be done in the house. Actually, it's what I wanted to do despite having a dh who has been sick with a bad cold for two weeks. I have said I think it's going into pneumonia but naturally he doesn't listen to me. Oh well...

So here is week 45, eons ago it seems, doesn't it!

It's time to get this Project caught up here so I can do the same with the one or two weeks I've yet to document. Travel seems to take its toll on blog posting and unexpected events do the same. But those of us who are pretty well dedicated to this project just forge on! And yes, Week 44 included Halloween. Kind of funny to see as we have Christmas decorations up now. Oh well!

My patient daughter in law took this photo of us on the T. Patient? because her husband, my son, will always try to give the middle finger to me, her, anyone. No, he isn't 14 but I have decided it comes from his father's genes not mine! even though his father would never do anything like this. 

I just shake my head and wonder....

A year ago, my granddaughter went around Europe while she was studying in Dublin. The girl has the travel but and she knows how to rock it. I hope she always is able to travel and see everything the world can offer.

I've been involved in a lot of things that have taken me away from blogging and scrapping but it's been good. So for a different idea on Wednesdays here's one that made me smile. If I'd seen this kind of thing when my 3 grands were small, I'd have lost my collective grandparent mind too.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 41

A week of traveling. I went up to Delaware for a 3 scrappers meet up and lunch and a stop at Lidl, my first visit to this grocery chain in the US. I believe I've been to one in Europe. I like!  Dick went off to a bicycle weekend in Maryland and then down to South Carolina for a week. All with his bicycle.
Despite the rain, the weather actually started cooling down and I got my 30 Days of Thankful albums all in order for this year's project. A great way to go into the busy holiday season with gratitude - for everything.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 40

I have often found that my tv/movie selection reflects the mood of the week. The confirmation of the latest Supreme Court nominee was depressing for me and many of my friends. But at least the week ended with making some Scotch eggs for a wonderful party that weekend.

It still didn't feel like fall. Sigh.

Happy Pumpkin Piggy Weekend

This shot came from a friend of a blogger I follow.She's a woman in Yorkshire so that's a winner for me.  The Weaver of Grass said one had to go look at these photos of pigs and pumpkins so...I had to have a go. Just thinking of delicious pork on the table was enough for me. <--- that should be a whisper I suppose so those lovely porkers stay content.

TBT: 1931 Summer Day

As a child growing up, I was the one who had the down comforter from these geese. Nana called it a feather tick and I always loved the feel of nesting in amongst those feathers. I still do like a duvet - cuddly and so easy to make the bed! But oh the indignity those poor geese suffered!

Travel With Me Tuesday: Day 13 Farewell to England

This first page is a match to the December 6 page showing  our departure from the US. I felt like giving it a visual feel to the book, bookends of a sort.

But then I added this one to show the various pins across England for our three locations and some of the food delights we had. Nothing posh but food that fit us on this trip. All shown are MY meals!

And finally my feelings, wishful feeling but it's how I feel about the United Kingdom, and England in particular. Will I ever move? You never do know do you what the future could bring!

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 39

Ah the weeks add up. Politically the good and the bad. A chance to film a commercial with our Attorney General added some spice to this retiree's life! Then some words that reminded me of the many unpleasant things said about Georgetown Prep students back in the 1960s. plus ca change plus la meme chose.

But there was also a look at daughter in law's wonderful birthday meal up in Boston. I do wish I lived closer! But I wonder if I'd get fat??
