Wednesday Words or Not

I am changing this day's theme up a bit to be either quotes I like or images that fit that bill. Some days words and some days no words. Got it? Blogger's choice!

or tea if that's your fancy

Five on Friday: March 25, 2016

1. It's that time of year when the weather forecast say 70° and yet it's still pretty chilly inside the house. So, no it's not iced coffee time yet round here. All decaf and made at home in this old $1. cup.

2. Now that Downton Abbey is finished, I have adjusted my record options with our tv. But darn that CBS. I don't usually set Madame Secretary to record since 60Minutes tends to run over time and it screws with the recording. However, trying to watch Madame Secretary on demand is not as easy as on other channels. There is a 24 hour window of availability or else they want you to pay.  Do Not Like. :(

3. Have you ever done a screencast?  Someone asked online and this tutorial makes it seem quite simple.

4. We had a 'boys night in' posole dinner last night and while 8 is a good number it's not a great seating arrangement for our table. I may have to do some furniture fiddling next time.

5.  When I came home last night after that dinner (I cook and leave. They eat.) I found leftover eclairs! omg. I had a half of one but they are calling to me....

That's all from me today so I hope you have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!

5 on Friday: July 24, 2015

Boy  we've had some hot days! There were several days I didn't even leave the house. Walking out to get the newspaper in the morning was enough of a taste of the heat and humidity for me. So what went on? Not much.

1. I like chocolate; I like coconut; and I've learned to like iced coffee way too much.  This drink, found on Pinterest, is on my to do list.

Chocolate Coconut Coffee Seltzer

2. I had my first peaches! they were from South Carolina and 99¢ a pound! It took another day or so after buying to get them fully ripe but they were good!

3. On one of the sweltering mornings, I finally got my summer plants all planted and my planting table cleaned off. It was only bothering me and telling someone (telling a husband) where and how to plant would have been more of an effort. That's just how it goes... Let me tell you, it feels good to have it all done and see it done. Worth the sweat.

4. With the air conditioning running all day downstairs, I actually did a slight bit of cooking - even using the oven once. I made a banana bread that turned out to be a not so good banana cake. It did use up those bananas that were quickly going south.

5. Finally got my iPhone6 filled with my music and backed up to my computer. Now if I could only get rid of all those Backup to the Cloud messages. No, I don't want to buy Cloud storage tyvm,

AMM Monday: Silly at Starbucks

Last Friday, dh had a coupon for a pre-Valentine's Day treat at Starbucks. Coffee and a pastry for $5. Not necessarily the greatest bargain but a nice idea. So off we went when the clock struck 2pm. (That must be a slow time at Starbucks...) I was enticed by the one special...a Flat White with a chocolate croissant (warmed!).  He decided to get the other special ...a Raspberry Chocolate Latte with a shortbread cookie.

Mine was just right but as I suspected his choice was way too sweet for him.  This is a man who drinks Sumatran, black no sugar. (ugh...) But we enjoyed our treats, perused the new mugs and tumblers, and the types of coffee pods that fit the old Keurig passed on to us by our grandson. Nothing we needed but I would like one of those stainless straws!

While we were there I saw two couples come in but no one else sat at our table or played with the props. Maybe you have to be young enough or old enough to have fun being silly. Put me in the latter category!

Just think...this wasn't even Valentine's Day. It was Friday the 13th, and a good one it was.
