AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 13-14

Well life has been both busy and silent round here. With my husband's cancer, I've done virtually no cooking and because of his throat issues, there is mostly silence chez nous. It's a very strange way of life.  I can't quite describe the feelings but it is strange to be in a room with someone who is almost totally silent. In his own world.

So I scrap and try to make my own life full of as much life as I can. Scrapping helps. Here are two older weeks that were done in late March and early April. Week 14's PET Scan gave us the cancer info that was needed to move forward.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 11 and 12

Life is a medical story round here and that has been the focus in the past two weeks. All that stuff was looming in March but we were still looking for answers. Some things got done but but mostly it was just nice to see the signs of spring.  We thought we were getting our solar panels but were stumped with a safety issue. Lots of things to require patience these two weeks. But it was a lot of fun to use spring colors on these pages. Find joy where you can.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 9 & 10

More of life has involved doctors and health issues round here. Scrapping is a nice escape but still my mind is cluttered with wondering about the future.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 7 and 8

Not quite caught up yet but I see light on the horizon. Back when it was still seriously winter weeks. Valentine's Day came and went with no fanfare. That's ok, but the various medical issues were a bummer. But two weeks done and one more snow fall.  Almost the end of February!

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 5 and 6

Still working with just one page a week. Less than my normal two a week but more than 1 or 2 pages per month. I do plan to switch it up a bit but as long as I can get the gist of the week recored, I'm good.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 3 and 4

Project Life moves on. Here in mid January it WAS cold! Bitter cold but I don't mind this kind of weather. He was in Florida and I was glad I wasn't. Only doing one page a week worked then but from a March perspective, I think I'll definitely do what I want whether it's one or two pages. Time will tell.

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 49 & 50

Back again with the tail end of 2018. Somehow it always seems so so long ago when we're actually only 6 days into 2019! I guess the mind does shut the door on the past in some way. But god willing and the creek don't rise, next Monday will finish weeks 51 and 52. We'll see!

AAM Monday: Project Life Weeks 46 & 47

The flowers were still blooming this week and I wondered if it would ever get really cold. A lot of jobs were done on houses on my street with the rush to get things done before any bad weather. But while we had a snow sprinkle, that was it. Not much hope for a snowy December.

And then we move on to week 47. Getting closer to the end of the year. But the leaves were still falling. Yes, global warming. But look! The Christmas tree came up from the cellar! and we had our 2nd Thanksgiving at an Indian restaurant. Kind of a tradition with a vegetarian daughter.

Back with more another day!

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 45

Well not a lot of catch up has been done, but I finally got my Christmas spirit in gear and have done most of what needs to be done in the house. Actually, it's what I wanted to do despite having a dh who has been sick with a bad cold for two weeks. I have said I think it's going into pneumonia but naturally he doesn't listen to me. Oh well...

So here is week 45, eons ago it seems, doesn't it!

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 41

A week of traveling. I went up to Delaware for a 3 scrappers meet up and lunch and a stop at Lidl, my first visit to this grocery chain in the US. I believe I've been to one in Europe. I like!  Dick went off to a bicycle weekend in Maryland and then down to South Carolina for a week. All with his bicycle.
Despite the rain, the weather actually started cooling down and I got my 30 Days of Thankful albums all in order for this year's project. A great way to go into the busy holiday season with gratitude - for everything.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 40

I have often found that my tv/movie selection reflects the mood of the week. The confirmation of the latest Supreme Court nominee was depressing for me and many of my friends. But at least the week ended with making some Scotch eggs for a wonderful party that weekend.

It still didn't feel like fall. Sigh.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 39

Ah the weeks add up. Politically the good and the bad. A chance to film a commercial with our Attorney General added some spice to this retiree's life! Then some words that reminded me of the many unpleasant things said about Georgetown Prep students back in the 1960s. plus ca change plus la meme chose.

But there was also a look at daughter in law's wonderful birthday meal up in Boston. I do wish I lived closer! But I wonder if I'd get fat??

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 38

To me the last of the 30 weeks is a sign. Yes, the year is drawing down but it's also my favorite time of year. Well should be but Mother Nature is reminding us to Chill Out and look at our damn carbon footprints. Mama ain't happy and week 38 was a sticky mess. I'm actually impressed that I got one or maybe even two things done. Just say I was cranky.

No, there wasn't a lot of ice cream or any this week. I started the no sugar routine and he cut out ice cream. Bah humbug. And look below at the mess the squirrels leave when they eat my neighbor's chestnuts. She gave me a bowl last year or so but the whole lot were wormy. Such a shame. The squirrels can  have them.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 37

The year does roll on and doing Project Life really seems to let me feel the change, the procession of time a lot more. It also helps keep me in the moment because I concentrate on the week, the days, at hand and not look forward or backward so much. That's why I like to keep "up to date" with it. Live the week, scrap it. Week 37 included me using an Ali Edwards technique in some journaling by starting each line with the same phrase - Fall is for... I want to try and remember this and use it now and then.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 36

Not my normal style but sometimes you have a challenge that just calls out for some change. If the weather won't cooperate then I'll make my own change. Week 36 ended up with a few changes of its own. His fish arrived, we ended up with a new kitchen air conditioner in just a few days - thank God!, our new outside awnings were finally installed and I got the semi-annual dreaded bloodwork. That's a full week in my book!

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 34

Week 34 was one of those weeks when it was hot and humid and thus very little happened. Who wants to do anything when the weather is like that other than stay in the air conditioning and wait for the cooler and drier days? I speak for myself of course but truly think we could do without August. The dog days of summer go on far too long...

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 33

Yes, it's September but I'm plodding through this project because I'm often a bit of a slug in summer. Plus it was HOT and HUMID and that sucked. I didn't want to leave the house. I'll only go if it means food.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 32

How about some color with this week! Yes, I went for it and loved it.  Apparently others loved it because it got a Gallery Standouts pick! Having recognition is always really appreciated. While I scrap for myself, getting an 'attagirl' certainly keeps me going. I think we're all kind of like this.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 31

Week 31 started off with himself needing to go to the hospital for a little bump on the back of his head. Considering he had fallen in the shower last week, it seemed that this bump could have been related to the fall which had resulted in a cracked rib. But after extensive testing with no indication of a head injury and a few days home, we decided it had been a mosquito bite. Himself gets quite a reaction from bug bites.

Fortunately, the rest of the week was much calmer.
