AAM Monday: Project Life Week 34
Week 34 was one of those weeks when it was hot and humid and thus very little happened. Who wants to do anything when the weather is like that other than stay in the air conditioning and wait for the cooler and drier days? I speak for myself of course but truly think we could do without August. The dog days of summer go on far too long...

AAM Monday: Project Life Week 31
Week 31 started off with himself needing to go to the hospital for a little bump on the back of his head. Considering he had fallen in the shower last week, it seemed that this bump could have been related to the fall which had resulted in a cracked rib. But after extensive testing with no indication of a head injury and a few days home, we decided it had been a mosquito bite. Himself gets quite a reaction from bug bites.
Fortunately, the rest of the week was much calmer.

The heat...oh the Heat!
All the rain we had, all the nights we had the gas fireplaces lit as we sat and read, each one of us getting chillier and chillier until one said...Turn the Jotul on. I will never stop being grateful to Dick for talking me into gas fireplaces. Yes, I miss the scent of wood smoke but not as much as I love having instant heat. Well all that ended this week...and I'm counting the days til there's a chill in the air again!
But now we are in the 'install the last window a/c units'. Every year, there is a problem with one or the other or as it is this year with two. Putting the units in the cellar seems to bring issues with the effin accordion panels on the sides. Plus the unit installed in my studio does not seem to cool at all and Mr. Engineer has determined that the coolant may have leaked out somewhere, sometime. This room rarely gets below 80° now. Not good. Not good at all.
I am now tasked with checking Best Buy on line to see what units fit the profile he's given me. The trouble is I have to do this research in the hot humid room without working a/c. I'm trying to be grateful for such 1st world problems but right now it's not that easy. I'm getting there because I can laugh at the 'privilege' of it all.
And people wonder why I don't want to go to Costa Rica.

AAM Monday Westward Bound
Not now but just me on a trip I've wanted to do since before my knee was replaced. Yay! It's in the works! The layout was for a challenge which was a nice thing to do, inside, in the air conditioning yesterday when it was so hot and humid that we never ventured outside. We're neither mad dogs nor Englishmen!
Yes, I do know I'm going where it is SERIOUSLY hot but it's dry. I can mostly take that as long as I remember not to touch metal and be sure to get myself a windshield guard. Plus...drink lots and lots of water.

Not much happenin'
Today has been one of those days that made me feel like I'd prefer to go back to bed and be left alone ...all...day. I just didn't feel like doing anything but I did.
The brake job on my car was not right, they were still not feeling tight, and so back the car went to the dealer. I did get a loaner of a lovely silver Jetta but once I drove it home, the summer drowsies hit. I got the laundry on the line, a meatloaf in the toaster over which I put outside, and then ....the time just went by.
I waited for the UPS man to come as dh walked over to pick up HIS car which got a new seat belt holder. That seems trivial, but when it doesn't work, it doesn't work and besides being against the law, a lack of seat belt is darn dangerous.
The UPS man came and he has a new Macbook and I got my Shutterfly book.

May I go to sleep now?

Hazy Hot and Humid
Then add to that a potential thunderstorm. This is my least favorite kind of weather and I have no desire to leave the house again, no desire to go far from the blast of an air/conditioner but I must. The cat's drugs are ready and it looks as if it's up to me to go fetch them.
I have tomatoes to finish up for freezing, not canning on such a hot day and then I think it will be ice cream, popcorn and a video. All in all, I just plan to wait for this weather to pass and ride it out. Fall will be here eventually ...I pray. Thinking about Dulce de Leche ice cream. Oh yeah...
