Flashback Friday

Ann paints a lot more of our house yellow. I was so happy to see more of the house brightened.

How 'bout this?

I just read about this on a blog today, and thought wow...etching without the acid business. I am told that it is considerably cheaper at the big box home and garden stores rather than the craft stores. $6. or less seems to be the going price.

Old Houses Are NEVER Finished

While the man is away it's always a good time to get another project done. This is best as there's no one going up and down the stairs all day, and eating, and getting coffee and bathroom trips and various other meanderings. It doesn't interfere with MY day to day life, mostly. But if you want something to get done, and you need to shove things all about, it's best done when himself is not home.

He's never bothered about the cost, but he is bothered by the bother. He always says but ...There'll be so much moving to do! ha. I got it all done this morning. If there's one thing I'm good about it's shifting things. I like it too! It gives me a chance to see things in a new light. Right now I'm seeing an empty hallway - pre painting.

Then there is the really cracked section in the center of the house which became worse after the renovation. It's to be expected but it's going to disappear for a while at least.

Then there's the bathroom all full of stuff. Still perfectly usable unless you want to take a shower here!

Fortunately, the other member of the household is not bothered by the shifting of his facilities. I shoved him in to be sure he knew where it was. He's an old guy and tends to forget where and what a lot. I checked. He used it.

Let the painting begin!

Red is now Yellow

Having the ability to get a few projects done in the house has been a good feeling. There was one red wall in the dining room that emphasized the crookedness of our house. I like having character and all but each time I looked at that one wall...it was oh no.

Well, that wall is now yellow, the same color as the wall behind it on the stairs. The rest of the room is still red. It certainly changed the apparent size of the room, actually making it seem smaller I think but it did let that crooked bit fade away. Everything has its price and I was glad to pay for this one.

Now onto clearing out furniture before dh gets back...

On my desk...March 12

I had thought about this meme from Kirsty at Kootoyoo. Last night, and woke up early fed up with the way the tables are. This is my first full year of using the room, and I found I could not reach the window with the table up against it. (i.e. in the side by side arrangement) So I had moved them apart and had my chair w/back between the tables. This worked ok, but I hated seeing the back of the well loved Imac as I entered the room.

There is ongoing clutter tho the shelves are pretty well organized - it's still the boxes that are still packed and the decisions of how to store things I have never used - or at least for a long time.

So shift and push and get the tables back to back - and look what I see while I'm sorting out.

But will you see the tables as they are now ???oh, no, because my new effin' card reader is doing nada. The blue light is on but nobody's home. Grrrrrr. But I am working on a project for dh...so shhhhh!

Next week...another view, and hopefully less crapola.
