And she went to Washington

When this young lass comes to visit, my husband likes to take her into Washington DC. A big change from where she lives. The first time they did it was the first time she'd been on a subway train and had a moment wondering if they'd get lost. No worry. Last time, she was a pro!

It was also a return visit to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.  A few necessary and then fun tweaks to this photo gave me the inspiration for this layout.

Simplicity is often the best way.

Happy Birthday Josie!

My dear granddaughter has a birthday today. 13. Always precious, she's now growing into a beautiful young woman. She is loved so very very much.

Flashback Friday

This little one will be 11 years old on Tuesday...how time flies.

She's no longer interested in a Barbie pink cake and party, but wants (and is getting! courtesy of the heart-stopping eBay auction) a Vera Bradley purse. Actually, it's easier now when I can ask her for a list of what she'd like, and know I can get a gift that pleases her. She's still a beauty ...in size ten shoes!

Prayers Requested for Bekah

Our granddaughter has just been diagnosed with aplastic anemia and is waiting to see if her little brother can be a bone marrow donor. Fortunately, these two children have little or no fear and take it more in stride than their family. Bekah is getting regular blood transfusions now and we hear she is still her happy self.
