I'm going to take a short blogging break for the next couple of weeks. There may be the odd post here and there but mostly I will not be here. However, as Gen. Douglas MacArthur said...

How Time Flies
Who knew I would miss my own anniversary again? Not my wedding one or any other significant one but my blog anniversary.
November 11 2007 Cooking My Life was born. What fun it's been. I recall wondering if I'd ever get to 100 posts, and I've passed 500 now. That says that I have posted 2/3 of the time, and I'm not counting posts on my other blog. I guess I'm wordy - enough.

Have You Missed Me Yet
While I will probably be either pulling my hair out in tears or wondering why I worried so much about now, you will soon be able to find me -godwillin' and his laptop is shared - over at my sadly neglected sister blog, Get In The Car.

Sometimes you just take the trip or you blog about it. Once in a while I can get my act together to do both. If not, I'll be hanging out the window waving. Just visualize. Seriously.

NABLOPOMO
So. I've taken on a new project for December. nablopomo.
What does all that mean? National Blog Posting Month, and for me I'm starting in December. A post a day, 31 in 31 days. I expect to be home almost all of this month, and godwilling and FIOS keeps working, I will have my trusty IMac and power.

So...a post a day in December. That isn't the hard part. The hard part is making it worth my time in writing and your time in reading. We'll see how we go, ok? Stick with me peeps, I'll do my best! If the idea strikes YOUR fancy, jump in and join the crowd. Or think about it and go for that upcoming short month - February. Any or every month can be nablopomo for you. But remember - 1. Fun and 2. Blogging without Obligation. Those two can exist with this project. I know they can.

Women Women Women
Oh the fun of it all. BlogHer DC, I mean.
Sunday was dinner with dh in Bethesda at Jaleo on a mild fall night, a gorgeous full moon, and then a night by myself in a hotel (luxury is sleeping in the middle of the bed - sometimes). Monday, I crossed the street to the Hyatt and a day full of mostly local bloggers, around 250 of us, talking, laughing and Having Fun. Oh it was heaven. Noisy but heaven.
And did the sponsors feed us! But I'll get to that later and be back with lots more fun bits and ideas gleaned. I learned so much ...about blogging and about us as female bloggers from the presenters and my fellow bloggers. In addition, I think I finally have found some local community.
