Covid19 March & April Streaming

Slowly getting these done. There's always good escapes from reality. 2 hours most nights...

And then there's these

I hav been busy doing a lot of Creative Team scrapping which helped me tell stories that linger in the brain but evaporate if not told. Some big events happened that were damped down with Covid effects. But life moves on despite disappointments and sometimes we learn who we are.

Here are some of my favorites from June.

Close to Caught Up - Project Life weeks 25 & 26

Caught up is a fleeting moment...and really is not a big goal of mine but the longer I wait for a Project Life to be done, the more I forget. I say it's Covid-Brain! But let's get on with it.

Weeks 25 and 26 - seriously, without these pages I would willingly forget a lot. There were moments when I was just plain tired of the pandemic effects on life. I thought...Is this how the rest of my life will be? Then I decided, like all of us, I have no idea how long the rest of my life will be! Cherish the moment no matter what! It's not always an automatic thought or easy but it works.

Gratitude smooths out a lot of life's wrinkles.

Week 25 was a haircut week!  woohoo!!!

Week 26 had a lot of gifts, a food delivery, bread from a friend,

 and my Liverpool were league Champions.

Project Life Weeks 23 & 24

Life was getting to be quite exhausting by this point and darn if bad hair wasn't depressing all the time. It was getting hot and my hair was in that horrible growing out stage. I didn't think I had it in me to let it grow long.  And then there was the news...





There is a whole layout below about the arguments & angst involved in the actual start to go process of the new grill. It was not a good day chez nous...

Covid19 February & March

These charts from Persnickety Prints have given me a way to note many of the factual bits of these months. Rather than making a two page spread for each week, as I seriously don't have that much going on these days, I decided to add a TN part for each months reads or tv. Works for me! They'll get added at the end of the Month's weeks.



Amidst all the ever increasing strain of the news, tv and books gave me some escape time.

Back Again... Project Life Weeks 21 & 22

Somehow time has had a way of its own during Corona Time. Days just seem to evaporate and time passes without my knowledge. But I have continued with these pages just to remind myself that life goes on somehow some way.

Week 21 was another endoscopy for Dick and the first when I did not have to or could even go in. He got the wheel chair treatment though he could walk just fine.



Our anniversary dinner with unexpected similar shirts! It was a chilly day. Now I notice the dates are wrong on some of these pages.  Fortunately I have my .psd files so I can go back and correct. In looking at prior ones I seem to have really messed dates up in May. Blame it on Covid19.

Project Life Weeks 19 & 20

Life went on back in May but the days really did start blurring in one another. Even though our days were not that different than in the Before Time, I started to have a hard time remembering which day of the week it was. But things did happen, including the installation of a couple of window a/c units that come out during the cold weather and my office got a new ceiling fan! Yay to all the help we had from good friend Tom. Life is still good.

PL Weeks 17 and 18

Despite my  absences here, I have 'mushed on' with PL. It's a bit harder to do in CoronaTime but life goes on and it's a challenge to notice things.  But I try and some days I realize I never took one photo.  Shame on me. I can always find something to look at and appreciate when I try. 

Besides Homeland...oh I'll miss you! We had a bagpiper come and serenade our street! Random acts of kindness abound.

Spring really did come and the Easter things went back in their bin until next year.  I still really enjoy having some kind of background behind all the images. This week it was the newspapers with a bit of an overlay to keep with nature's lavender theme!

MOC7 All the Layouts

Now all these layouts have gone to Shutterfly and this image is the cover. I expect to get the book on Thursday and put this project to bed. What a lot of fun it was! 

Once again, I learned a lot of what I personally like and what I don't. And thank goodness 'the extraction' technique wasn't one of this year's challenges! That one is not for me because I really don't care about doing something so precise. It makes scrapping work not fun - for me.

2019 MOC7 Days 25 - 31

Yes, this is the final batch except for a page with ALL the layouts! There's a lot more color in these pages but still, when it comes to a background I like neutrals or patterns that have had the opacity reduced over a solid white base. I also like to have an edge or border of some sort to reign the whole piece in. And while I do like double pages, that really wasn't an option for a lot of these challenges and so I usually reserve double pages for travel books. It's still a bit of work but with practice it's ok. Grouping a lot of layers that go together really helps a lot! But I digress...

Once again, I hope you see how many ways there can be to scrap a story or an event! Try it. It's so much fun and the supplies live in an EHD - external hard drive leaving more space to have other bits and pieces all over your (MY!) desk.  Happy Monday!

2019 MOC7 Days 19 - 24

Since we have a snowy morning I'm putting 5 pages here today. Snow day!! I don't expect it to amount to much but it is pretty even if it is c o l d. No way as bad as the states experiencing another polar vortex, but cold enough that the furnace is not shutting off. 

In looking at these 5 layouts, it seems I was happy to get back to neutral backgrounds. I'm realizing I really do like a clean graphic style a lot but still need to get the story in somehow! that's MY challenge. See you next week!

2019 MOC7 Days 15-18

Here it is Wednesday and so there are more pages for you to look at! First of all there is the winter scene from  the only snow we've had so far.

Then there was a page I really enjoyed of my son and his former classmates from high school in Paris.  They are meeting in the hotel  where Iain works.

Speaking of my son, the next layout was for his birthday. At 47, children don't get real presents any more. Just more love.

Finally a different sort of heritage page of my mother in her garden. Some journaling will be added for 'my' version to be printed. 

I hope you enjoy looking at these and the varieties of pages that can be done digitally.

2019 MOC7 Days 11-14

Moving along with the pages. Now that first one was quite a bit out of the norm, esp for me. Fill in a silhouette with items to express the inner you.

The Day 12 layout below was to have text from the photo as in "I've gotcha!" an old but interesting technique.

Day 13 was to use different times of the day, a riff on Ali Edwards' 

A Day in the Life.

And finally, a clean and simple page, a style I have grown to love as long as a story is told.

2019 MOC7 Days 7-10

Another round of images for you this Monday.

Big news - for me! - is that my 2018 Project Life book went to the printer. Shutterfly had it's traditional late January sale where you get FREE PAGES after the normal 20! When you have a 100+ book that's a very big savings. Delivery is scheduled for early February so I'm trying to be patient.

I hope you enjoy seeing the variety of challenges that came up in this MonthOfChallenges at The-Lilypad. It takes time and some are not always my favorite but it certainly reminds me that there are so many different techniques to use which makes it all fun.

2019 MOC7 Days 4-6

Another round of those Month of Challenge pages.  I hope you enjoy seeing the variety of challenges there have been at The-Lilypad. It does push me to try other styles and techniques. I may not love each page and the ones that others like best does not always line up with what I like but so what? It's all fun!
