On My Desk... a giveaway

Trying to get a good clean up done, and wrap up any undone projects. And Finally, the giveaway for this post.

This is a fascinating book and Sebastian will do the drawing on Friday October 31st, so we can try and get it in the mail on Saturday. If you commented on the earlier post, you're in but there's still time. Yes, I will send internationally. Thank you for enlarging my world!

On My Desk..October 1

I hope by the end of the day there will be a better shot. Hopefully, this is Part 1 of today's OMD. The mess... No no, don't tell me you've seen this concept before. I know. I've seen it too. But...one has to believe!

Oh those papers. I've got some idea of what to do with these tho it certainly is an idea in progress.

Back to you later.

Lots done...I'm really happy that with a good pot of tea, and music that Itunes genius selected for me, I got a clear space. One bookcase gone.

More of the magazines sorting for collage, atc work etc

ATCs ready for the post office. (I love this outgoing mail system. Works for me!) And look at that full trashcan.

So let that cool air continue to come in. If it brings more rain, fine with me.

On my Desk..June 18

This was on my 'kitchen' desk the other day...just to show there can be a mess. But a mess with purpose and results!

Summer Rolls

But in the upstairs studio, the home of the craft and computer desks, there is a probable ceiling leak, so nothing except repair work is gonna happen in that room.

The desks have stuff all piled on them to clear that corner. I moved my computer about 4 ft away from the bulge in question since the pic was taken, and took one table out of the room.

This problem helped me see I don't need so many tables as they tend to just allow me to cover them with stuff. I'm sure none of you have that kind of tendency, or do you???

Check out more desks at Kirsty's blog.

On my desk...April 30

Lots of sunlight! Wow it's nice in the a.m. these days. I suspect I will be getting up by 6am or earlier now.

And other than sunlight?? items to go to the Post Office when they open. Postcards for a swap-bot exchange I joined. This Birthday Card swap needs some more people but it is not international. US readers? think about it.

There is also a package finally getting on its way to Australia. ;-)

And then there is the crinkly blotter....got wet one rainy pm, and I'll be glad to get to May tomorrow which still looks ok. Today I will be starting...god willin'....two postcards for a handmade pc swap. This one is international and I hope it will get my creative juices flowing. I have an idea to cobble/collage some extra pics I played around with for Christmas cards. Wish me luck! getting the idea from the head to the hands is quite a challenge I find.

On my desk...April 9

On my Desk...April 9
(click pic to see large Flickr version with lots of notes - if you are nicely nosey)

Oh look at the other desks at Kootoyoo's list instead.

Aaargh I now know why I put off doing this...too many memories, both good and painful, and the everpresent issue for me of what to do with small bits. I have done this in fits and starts all week, and thought...damn..it's gonna get done today come hell or high water! (I shouldn't say that..we've had a week of rain.)

Well there is a good bit of order actually, a batch for charity, a bunch of silver for my daughter..and still a couple of bits to clear off the table. This was really tiring, physically and emotionally. Enuf.

On my desk...March 19

Not much.

My goal this week was to clean up, clean out, and pack the suitcases. Again. Now I have something to report for the On My Desk meme from Kirsty @ Kootoyoo. This box is the way I'm starting to feel - tidy.

What got done was -
  1. A session with a monk gave me a spiritual boost
  2. The small brunch happened, people were fed, and the cook let out a deep sigh
  3. A movie was watched - Donnie Darko- with popcorn AND ice cream. (So decadent...)
  4. The final season of The Wire was recorded - phew!
  5. The CanonPixma 160 software was reloaded, reloaded, and once more reloaded and I can now scan.
  6. Transition of winter bedding and clothes began
  7. Clothes were hung on the line for a whole day!(Spring!?!?)
  8. Loads of magazines were read and either flagged for recycling or went back to the library
  9. Information on Chicago food/restaurants was gleaned
  10. And that is why most of my desk is empty. "That's A GOOD Thing!"

Wireless issues here at home, so maybe it's just as well Cooking My Life is taking a break and sister blog, Get in The Car will be speaking. I hope to look at all your desks along the way. Ciao!

On my desk...March 05

Well, my desks are in a state of flux after the serious look at those poor inspiration boards. I know I'm not listed on Three Buttons blog as playing the "This is..." meme but I am. (3Buttons..I don't see an email to ask you to include me.) These pictures go with the meme from Kirsty at Kootoyoo.

I must have been thinking of how I could move this room around, and got up out of bed just before midnight to do some playing around with some cards. First thing in the morning, I took the picture... pen caps did get put back on after use. ;-) I am still planning on making a card using the pinprick method, but I just have to test it out...and find the print of the blog on which I saw the concept. I think I know where it is. I hope I know because I have no idea what the real word for that technique is. I'm also wondering what kind of needle will go thru this faux watercolor paper.

Ok people...I do need to know what this technique is called. I don't (grrrr) have the paper I thought I did. I saw the idea on flickr - a woman making wallpaper withe pinkrpicks of traced greenery. Does that ring any bells???? I'm running out of vocabulary to google. TIA!
