Travel With Me Tuesday: On to Las Cruces

An easy start to the day and then retracing my steps somewhat as I headed south.  It was more of a keep driving trip but I had hoped to find the one place we had visited in Socorro. It was like an old general store, lost in time, but no such luck.  I also had to pass on the VLA which is a trip in itself.

There is really not much of anything in Socorro except the university which seemed to be fairly deserted except for a few motley looking students. The town doesn't lend itself to J. Crew to put it mildly.

These two signs caught my eye and then it was time to get out of Dodge....er Socorro. I had already gone round the University twice to find the Plaza with no luck.

When I am by myself I can stop at any and all the roadside stands I want! I was glad to not be one of the 'dead' on this drive but even gladder when I rolled into Las Cruces and met up with my on-line friend Catherine and her husband Aaron. The next day Catherine and I would head off to Mexico, well just across the border to The Pink Store,  so evening was spent getting to know each other 'on the flesh' so to speak! I've never been disappointed in a face to face meetup with an on-line friend and this was no exception.

AAM Monday: Project Life Week Week 43

A wonderful week with a trip across the Potomac to visit Dick's cousin and son. A perfect autumn day to start this week.

Home life was pretty darn good and easy too.  Just ordinary times which are some of the best times.

Five on Friday: November 6, 2015

A mixed week with a lot of good  and a couple of doses of crazy. Fortunately, none of the crazy belongs to us! Not my circus, not my monkeys. It's always good to remember that.

1. I absolutely love the fall. I love the shorter days, the cooler air, the falling leaves. Fall is the best season in my opinion.

2. Wednesday night I had a chance to visit with my old Artist Way friends in Baltimore. Two of them have a gallery showing and I was invited to the opening night. It's good to see people getting ahead by hard work and perseverance.

3. Not a lot of cooking done round here since we got back from the beach. However, if the temperatures continue to drop, I'm in the mood for some cooking and stocking up the freezer.

4. I heard this song the other night on the radio and I'd love to go to her show in DC. I'm not sure I'm up to that kind of thing any more but I'm willing to try!  maybe they have an old ladies section at the 9:30 club. LOL

5. I really hope that I can finish up my Southwest trip photos and maybe even get a book layout done. I saw my friend's Shutterfly book and the images really looked good on black. I've never tried that so maybe with a narrow white border?

In any case, have a great weekend and make sure to do something fun for yourself!
