To answer the main question, I used straight bleach, but a cheap brand. I am also thinking that bleach, when exposed to air, has a pretty short life. You chemistry folk can provide the details. This just means there's no point in soaking a thick pad as it will lose its 'zing' after x amount of time. Bleach, even Clorox, is cheap enough to keep resaturating if you plan to do a massive stamping.
